Game in Kragujevac postponed for October

This weekend’s game between the Wild Boars and the Gladiators has been postponed for October the 6th due to teams’ inability to find an acceptable date for this week. The Gladiators insisted on Saturday, presumably so that they don’t have to go back to Austria so close to Monday, but that was not an option for the home team. The stadium they have been using this year can, this week, only be used for football on Sunday. After a back and forth discussion these past few days, the Wild Boars scheduled the game for Sunday at 11AM, but even that was unacceptable for the Austrian team, meaning no games will be played in Serbia this weekend.

The setting of a new date also means this game will close out the regular season and no further changes will be possible.

The Wild Boars’ home last year, and for most of their existence, the largest stadium in Kragujevac – “Čika Dača“, will finally be reopened after renovation. This weekend it’s being used for Balkan Junior Athletic Championships, but it’s possible the Wild Boars finish their season at the, up to this year, usual stadium.

The Budapest Wolves faced similar problems this week, but they managed to reschedule their game against the Silverhawks from Sunday to Saturday, as did the Dukes this past weekend. They too rescheduled to Saturday. At the league meeting in before the season teams agreed in principle to schedule international matches for Saturdays, and that has for the most part been honored.
