The Vukovi add two receivers
Goran Košutić
The South’s second ranked team, the Vukovi Belgrade, addressed their need for receivers adding two from two other Serbian teams -- Igor Vukoje from the Knights and Bratislav Bošnjak of the Pančevo Panthers.
With their top two receivers from last year away from the team, and with their top receiver this year, Jordan Green, playing quarterback occasionally, they were at times down to just two receivers. Adding more during the summer break was a must for the team, and it could be said that, outside of adding another import player, it’s the best they could’ve done.
Both of the players have been Serbian national team members since last year and, especially in Vukoje’s case, their teams’ best players.
Also one of the best Serbian league players, Vukoje brought his team -- one of the smallest teams in the league -- to the Serbian league championship in 2007 and the quarterfinal this year, when they gave a good fight to the Vukovi in Belgrade.
Bošnjak was a somewhat surprising addition to the Serbian national team for last year’s European group C championships, but caught two touchdowns in three games there, most of all Serbian players.
