Juhas a free player
Goran Košutić
One of CEFL’s best players the past three years might soon not be a CEFL player anymore. Either way, Čaba Juhas, a long time quarterback of the Novi Sad Dukes, has left the team at the end of the 2008 season and will play for a different one next year, maybe in the CEFL, but maybe not.
He is rumored to be in talks about a move to Hungary, as well as a few Serbian league teams, most notably the Klek Knights.
That all was not well in Novi Sad became clear when he didn’t play in the league semifinal in Austria. Though he was injured, like he was the year before, this time, unlike last year, he chose to skip the game having not recovered completely from a broken collar bone he sustained in the Serbian league playoffs in July.
The Dukes will now turn to two year backup and former receiver Rastko Jokić who Juhas himself referred to as a quarterback with potential. Still, with other rumored player departures, the Dukes will be a much different team next year.
