With the teams having the option of releasing players, or delicensing them, for the second part of the season, the Vukovi Belgrade removed Andrej Tasić from their roster, making it official he would not play again this season and likely not again at all.
The former Offensive Player of the Year for the entire league, played in just one game this season, scoring the first touchdown of 2009 in the season opener against the Gladiators. Suffering from periodic knee problems ever since the injury that forced him out of the league's first championship game in 2006, Tasić still played an important role in all of the team's accomplishments prior to this season, moving from quarterback to receiver in 2007. He scored a touchdown in CEFL Bowl II that helped the Vukovi win their only CEFL title.
Other than the first game that he played this season, he spent the rest of the season helping out with the team, and the team says he would continue to do that, mainly with their juniors program.
