Constituting CEFL Cup
Central European Football League is dedicated to promoting top teams in the region and giving them the stage to challenge one another and grow their potential. Consequently, in addition to the announced structure of two conferences playing for CEFL Bowl XII this season, the League will also have a developmental competition in 2017, as it has been the case in the past. It will be composed of last year’s Central Conference teams and some valuable additions.
Three teams are reprising their last year’s appearance in the Central Conference. Those are: Kranj Alp Devils from Slovenia, Zagreb Patriots from Croatia and Sarajevo Spartans from Bosnia and Herzegovina. They will play each other in group West of the new competition, to be joined by Serbian teams which will form group East. Two of the best-placed teams in each group after the regular part of the season will play for CEFL Cup.
CEFL is also pleased to announce an important extension of the previously established Eastern Conference. Turkish champions, Istanbul Koc Rams have approached the League earlier as one of the teams belonging to the same region with the other teams in this conference. After their plans for playing another European competition fell through, CEFL was the coveted option.
Eastern Conference has already been formed, but participating teams have agreed to expand its membership and accept the Turkish team. This will allow them to compete on an international level this year. Koc Rams are a force to be reckoned with, along with the entrenched SBB Vukovi and Wild Boars from Serbia and Cowbells from Hungary, all playing in the CEFL Eastern Conference.
