Smooth ride for Ljubljana

photo: Jure KrajncOn Saturday afternoon in Mader Austria, the Cineplexx Blue Devils vs. Ljubljana Silverhawks took place. The visiting team won relatively smoothly 14-30.
The Blue Devils' usual stadium was closed for this occasion. Maybe that was one of the reasons, why Ljubljana dominated the game from start to finish as if they were the home team. They took an early lead, extending it already in the first quarter to 14 points. The Blue Devils got on the board in the second quarter on a touchdown run by the 17-year old youngster Vincent Muller. They still trailed by a score of 7-20 at halftime.
In the third quarter the Blue Devils scored their second touchdown of the game when Mitch Niekamp rolled out to his left and found Andrew Blakley in the endzone.
The Silverhawks added a field goal in the fourth quarter and a late interception by the visiting team ended the Blue Devils chances of a comeback.
