Fast and furious

In their SELAF debut, the Budapest Wolves had no problems getting a win defeating the Ljubljana Silverhawks in Ljubljana 37-16 in another lopsided loss for the Silverhawks. With one win, they lost three games and were outmatched in all three – this one was no different with the Wolves leading 27-0 at halftime before Robert Cochran ran for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to prevent a shutout.

The Silverhawks had a decent first drive, but it ended with an interception by Mátyás Hubay. In all, quarterback Rok Štamcar was intercepted four times in the game and the second by Tamás Migály being returned for a touchdown and the final points in the first half.

Vasyl Yordan got off to a quick start passing for touchdowns in the first and second quarter to Bálint Michaletzky and Csanád Király before being replaced in the third quarter with the lead firmly in hand. Péter Cseperkáló also added a rushing TD in the second quarter.

Backup QB Attila Lendvai reached the end zone from the 1 yard line in the third quarter before Cochran eased the loss for the Silverhawks with a 13 and a 60 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Both times Ljubljana converted for two. Gábor Sviatkó kicked his first field goal in SELAF between Cochran’s touchdowns to get his team to 37.
