The victory over the Sirmium Legionares was bittersweet for the Ljubljana Silverhawks. One of the cornerstones of the defence, Luka Fabiani, was seriously injured in the last play of the game.
In a rather unfortunate turn of events, Fabiani tore his ACL during a two-point conversion and now faces surgery and at least 6 months of rehabilitation.
“Injuries are part of the game, and every player should be ready for such a thing”, says Fabiani, 27. “The difficult part is not being able to play…it`s tough, sitting in the stands while your team is fighting on the field.”
