With their main conference rival adding two new receivers, the Novi Sad Dukes didn’t sit idly during the summer break and they’ve themselves added reinforcements. Unlike the Vukovi, they’ve done so on the field, and on the sidelines.
Along with nine new players from various Serbian teams, four of which were on the latest Serbian national team roster, a familiar face will be on the sidelines for the Dukes this fall. CEFL champion as head coach of the Vukovi last year, Aleksandar Hadži-Pavlović joined the Dukes in an advisor-type role, where he’ll work with the offensive and defensive line, as well as the linebackers.
On the field, their biggest addition are two Belgrade Blue Dragons players, especially linebacker Nenad Ivanović, with receiver Srđan Hadžimurtezić. Running back Dragomir Milanović will fill the hole that’s been there since Marko Đanić left; Alen Rizvić has also returned to the team — he was their running back and kick returner the previous two years, before he left for another Serbian team this season.
