Vukovi go to Zagreb for another win

This Saturday on NK Prečko field from 4PM, the Zagreb Thunder host the leading team of their group, the Vukovi Belgrade.

“We’re playing against an opponent that we know very well. The Vukovi are a serious team and a very tough and unpleasant opponent. Still, I hope we’ll play a good game at a high level”, says Marko Tošić, one of only two players from Zagreb that have thus far managed to score against the Vukovi.

The Thunder lost to the Budapest Wolves in its first game this season 0-42, but although the score doesn’t suggest it, they weren’t without chances in the game. Almost the entire first half was scoreless, but in the end the quality of the Wolves showed, and Zagreb came out of the game weaker and with injuries to several key players.

Considering this, as well as the fact that last year’s two games between Zagreb and Belgrade ended with a 105 point differential in the Vukovi’s favor, the Thunder against this year’s undefeated team can hardly look for much more than a tolerable defeat.

For both teams this will be an opportunity to try out new plays, that could be useful in the games that will follow, because the Vukovi have an away game in Budapest in two weeks that may as well be decisive for the playoff spot, while the Thunder will with more optimism look for its first CEFL win in Ljubljana in three weeks.
