Though it was the Gladiators’ home game, they ended up traveling to Hohenems to play the Blue Devils after switching the host team. It didn’t end well, as they became just the latest team to get crushed on the Blue Devils’ path.
Tino Muggwyler continued his scoring streak already in the first quarter, but it was the only score of the quarter for them. The Gladiators didn’t last much longer though, and it was already 20-0 at halftime after two touchdown passes of 40 yards by Bradley Guidry to Joseph Sturdivant and Petr Vitovec.
Not to be outdone by Muggwyler’s 129 yards rushing including a second touchdown, Guidry passed for his third to Bastian Nau in the third quarter. He also had 199 yards passing and again wasn’t intercepted. Even if they were less convicing on offense, it would’ve been more than enough, since they became the first team to shut the Gladiators out, and leave them scoreless for the whole game, not counting the Vukovi’s 35-0 win because of a canceled game last year.
