Vukovi once again better then Wolves

Two teams with the same names, with same passion in great rivalry, and once again, with same winner: Vukovi Beograd defeated Budapest Wolves 27-13 and are on the verge of clinching first position for CEFL play-offs.

Visitors came to Ada with huge wish to defeat their great rivals for the first time, and to that with 10+ score as they’ve wanted first position at league standings, but it was all about Vukovi once they’ve established their game.

Wolves took the first blood after Péter Cseperkáló crowned great drive with 5-yard rushing touchdown, but response came very soon. Andrej Tasic orchestrated Vukovi’s offense as true leader of Belgrade team, and his 20-yard connection with Anthony Stubbs, former Kansas Jayhawks star, and then 25-yarder to Mario Lugonja who found a seam in opponent’s defense, were enough for 13-6 lead at half-time.

With great defensive effort and constant pass-rush, Vukovi hold rivals who did their best with strong running game, but couldn’t stop league leaders. Reigning champions then struck once more after drive with several “wildcat” plays, as Brandon McDowell pounded the ball in endzone in 3rd quarter, and it was all over in 4th quarter, when Tasic’s third touchdown pass, this time 40 yards long for McDowell was enough for 27-6. Cseperkáló ran 35 yards for final score, but that touchdown came too late for Wolves who made a lot of problems to their opponents with inside runs, but were punished for every single mistake, no matter how small, they’ve made in this game.

Vukovi stayed at the top of standings, now with 4-0 score, and Wolves are now equal with Ljubljana with 2-2.
