Wild Boars find replacement at quarterback

The Kragujevac Wild Boars managed to find a replacement for the departed Stan Bedwell. Despite the fact that their backup quarterback Stefan Stefanović posted very good numbers in about six quarters of play, the team’s offense will be led by Santino Simone for the remainder of the season.

The team posted on its website that the 22-year old played for the Anna Maria Cats in Division III, playing out his senior year this last fall.

“I expect to win one game at a time and I can’t wait to start playing. I didn’t know much about Serbia until now, but the players that play here told me great things which I already noticed upon arrival”, said Simone for the team’s website.

He will make his debut on the 4th of May, when the Wild Boars host the Budapest Wolves. The Wild Boars won 28-55 in the first game. Their former quarterback Bedwell tossed for 452 yards and seven touchdowns in that game, both CEFL records. He finished his second game with negative passing yardage, getting hurt in the second quarter.
