The PBB Kragujevac Wild Boars survived a small crisis and beat the Dukes in Novi Sad today 6-29, securing their place in the Serbian Bowl. They will play against the SBB Vukovi Belgrade, who beat the Blue Dragons 59-12 a day earlier.
The Wild Boars were forced to travel to Novi Sad a week after losing on the same field to the same team 32-7. The loss dropped them to third place on the Serbian league standings and thus they had to travel to Novi Sad again for the semifinal game.
Despite the tough situation, the Wild Boars recovered, beating the Dukes in actually a very convincing fashion. They led 0-9 at halftime after a Henry McVay run and a field goal, and their quarterback Stefan Stefanović made sure there were no comebacks with two touchdown passes. Milorad Novaković put the game away with an interception returned for touchdown.
The Vukovi beat their Belgrade rivals easily. They had a 24-point lead already in the first quarter and had no problems closing the game out. These two teams will meet in the Serbian Bowl for the third straight year. The Vukovi won the last two.
