Wild Boars scrape through

In third week of play in SportKlub CEFL two games were played on Holy Saturday. Budapest Docler Wolves have hosted Kragujevac Wild Boars and Ljubljana Silverhawks have met the reigning champion and current standings table leader, Belgrade SBB Vukovi.

Although nine of their starters didn’t play because of injuries, Wild Boars have snatched a narrow victory from their second away game in two weeks. Docler Wolves were leading until the end through running back Péter Lenner’s rushing touchdown and three field goals by a brilliant kicker András Storcz, two from 40+ yards. All that the Wild Boars managed to do in the first half was a touchdown pass to Nikola Tomic. Second half was a different story when Shane Wong, this time in the quarterback role, took over. With a second touchdown pass to Tomic and one to Filip Nedeljkovic and a rushing touchdown of his own, he had turned over the score. Docler Wolves have answered with a Róbert Darvas touchdown pass to Storcz but that was all and the final score stood at 22:26.

The Wild Boars will have their chance to get back at SBB Vukovi as soon as the fourth week in SportKlub CEFL back home in Kragujevac. With any win of more than one point they could come on top of the standings table. One week later, Docler Wolves host Ljubljana Silverhawks in Budapest.
