Eastern Conference of CEFL Championship is pulling its curtain down with the last remaining game that will solve the enigma of the second CEFL Bowl XII participant. Kragujevac Wild Boars are hosting Budapest Cowbells on Saturday in a hope to go through to the finals.
The Wild Boars have outplayed Istanbul Koc Rams in their first seasonal game. Their rival, the Cowbells have welcomed Belgrade SBB Vukovi and suffered a minimal 3 point loss. That’s the reason these two duelists play with different goals in mind. The Wild Boars are hell-bent on winning, for that’s the only thing separating them from the finals. That hope has left the Cowbells but they’ll try to prove their worth and finish the season with a bang that will echo until next year.
There’s a new sheriff in Kragujevac, since the Wild Boars have switched between quarterbacks recently and brought Dalton Oliver to lead the offense. He will target Strahinja Stepović and Filip Nedeljković, and Laurent Tshimanga will spearhead the ground forces. When they’re off the field, Allen Ramsey will take on Cowbells’ best receiving options.
Behind the center for the Cowbells is Márton Czirók, while the oak-strong Péter Cseperkáló will man skills positions in both offense and defense. However, it might easily turn out that defensive backs Eric Agyeman and Patrick Ogunji are the teams’ most valuable players and their help will definitely be needed in stopping the potent aerial attack of the Wild Boars.
SBB Vukovi will be anxious to know the score as they will be the true beneficiary of the Cowbells win. It’s their last chance to continue the uninterrupted streak of CEFL Bowl game participations since the League inception. One sure thing is that a Serbian teams will join the Occidental winner, SWARCO RAIDERS Tirol in CEFL Bowl XII. The question is which one.
CEFL Cup Western group will also come to an end when Sarajevo Spartans play host to Kranj Alp Devils on Saturday. The two will battle it out for the top spot in the group and the opportunity to play in the CEFL Cup finals.
The advantage lies with the Alp Devils, because of their 22-6 victory in the first meeting. Now the Spartans will need to win with a 16 points difference just to tie the aggregate score. Both of the teams have, twice each, whipped the ill-fated Zagreb Patriots in group play.
Two quarterbacks, Spartans’ Caleb Hecox and Alp Devils’ Tanner Bachand are the most likely stars of this show and the players who could tip the scales in either team’s favor. They are expected to perform at their best if their teams will have a shot at winning. The group champions will play in the finals, and the losing team will strive toward the third place of the CEFL Cup. Contender from the Eastern group will be known next week in the last regular season game.
