Closing week of CEFL Cup

Regular season of CEFL Cup is closing on Saturday with the last game in the Eastern group. Belgrade Blue Dragons are hosting Novi Sad GAT Dukes to solve the last open question. The game will be played in the Serbian national top league and the score will stand in the CEFL Cup.

The duet has a 2-0 score after beating both Indjija Indians and Sirmium Legionaries in previous games. Both teams are even keel in the national league as well. Score point difference is not important in this case, unless taken as a sign of teams’ efficacy. If that’s any indication to go by, then GAT Dukes offense was more prolific with 73 points scored in previous two CEFL Cup games, while Blue Dragons were less so with 36. Their defenses have allowed almost the same number of points, 12 by GAT Dukes and 13 by Blue Dragons.

GAT Dukes have entrusted their offense to quarterback Christopher Jeffrey and running back Jermicheal Selders. On the other side of the field, Blue Dragons will have a domestic snap caller, Mladen Zlatić who will look for receiver Corey Williams, while defensive back Marvin Desir will lead the defense.

The winner of this game will advance to CEFL Cup finals to play Kranj Alp Devils. The other team will go to Sarajevo Spartans to play for third place. The matchup playing for the fifth place was decided two weeks ago and in it Zagreb Patriots will welcome Indjija Indians. Sirmium Legionaries hold the seventh and last place in CEFL Cup 2017.
