The regular season of the CEFL Cup is winding down on Sunday with the final game of the Northern group. Polish vice-champions, Tychy Falcons will host the current Czech champions, Vysočina Gladiators. It will be a duel for the bragging rights.

This is the second game in the CEFL Cup for both teams. They have both suffered defeats by Prague Lions in their first matchups in the Northern group. The Gladiators have opened the season, welcoming their national archrival, the Lions, and lost to them 19-35. Next, the Falcons have traveled to Prague and, while faring better, the home team has beat them 28-20.

Tychy Falcons are following in the footsteps of Gdynia Seahawks, who have played in the CEFL Cup in 2018. The Falcons have played half of their national league and they stand at the 1-2 record. Their game and their current standings will have to improve a lot for them to place in the national playoffs. The game on Sunday could be a turning point for their team. For this to happen they will look to their quarterback Christopher Jeffrey and their receiving core.

Czech national league is just over the mid-season. The Gladiators have played 5 games over there, scoring 4 wins. Their only loss has come against the Prague Lions, in the same game which was scored as their national league matchup and a CEFL Cup game. They have 3 more regular season matchups and their playoff presence shouldn’t come in question. Their signal caller, Ryan Pahos has been one of the most instrumental players in their success so far.
