Great Briton
Despite missing five starters overall including four on defense, the Vukovi Belgrade managed their third straight convincing win, this time in Kragujevac. Briton Burge didn’t come off the bench this time instead starting at quarterback. He threw for 3 touchdowns and scored on a 1 yard run
What’s wrong with the champs?
As we are nearing the end of the first half of the season, it can be said that there have been many surprises in 2007, but not many bigger than the record of the South’s last place team, not to mention the team’s name. On Sunday, Kragujevac hosts Belgrade in what is the last game in the conference South this spring, and also the Wild Boars’ last chance until September to get a win
Combustion in Budapest
The Budapest Wolves organized a fantastic game on Sunday in Budapest, with a helicopter brining one of the game balls and flame throwers near the sidelines, but it were the Novi Sad Dukes that torched the home team for four touchdowns in the first half, enough for a 26 – 21 lead at halftime. The Wolves showed why they were the favorite in the game though
No suspense in Belgrade
The Vukovi Belgrade beat the Ljubljana Silverhawks 41-0 in a match that was pretty much expected with these two teams playing. With one missed extra point, Belgrade scored six touchdowns, three rushing and three passing, but what was unusual this time is that Andrej Tasić passed for only one touchdown and two came from Briton Burge
Lights. Action. Football.
Two teams currently leading their conferences have thus far played a total of six games, with the Novi Sad Dukes winning all four in the South to already clinch a playoff spot and the Budapest Wolves getting to 2-0 with two convincing wins in two weeks. The game on Sunday will not only feature the only two undefeated teams in SELAF, but it will also be a night game
Inches for the playoffs
On 4th down with less than two minutes to play, Čaba Juhas lunged across the 50 yard line on a quarterback sneak that sealed the faith of the Kragujevac Wild Boars and left them winless for the fourth game this season. Had he failed, the Wild Boars would have been in good position to steal this game away
Budapest pulls away
It was good weather at the capital town of Hungary, when the Budapest Wolves hosted North division rival ASVÖ Gladiators. What was supposed to be a good game, against all game recap clichés turned out to be a good game where the Wolves were simply a better team, winning by a 21 point margin
Conference battles
The Budapest Wolves host the Gladiators, while the Novi Sad Dukes will do the same with the Kragujevac Wild Boars in the second two game weekend in SELAF. Newcomers to SELAF, and by many the favorites in the North conference, will face off for the first time this year, and after just three games Dukes are very close to reaching a milestone in 2007
Fast and furious
In their SELAF debut, the Budapest Wolves had no problems getting a win defeating the Ljubljana Silverhawks in Ljubljana 37-16 in another lopsided loss for the Silverhawks. With one win, they lost three games and were outmatched in all three – this one was no different with the Wolves leading 27-0 at halftime
Silverhawks host the Wolves
The Ljubljana Silverhawks host the Budapest Wolves on May 12th for the Hungarian team’s SELAF season opener. While the Silverhawks have already played three games, this will be the Wolves’ much anticipated debut in the League
