The Boars take care of business

With a fairly easy win over the Ljubljana Silverhawks 20-0, the Wild Boars remained in control of their attempt to reach the SELAF Final. The Wild Boars had an intense start to the match, scoring on their first drive, and the Silverhawks, lacking a large number of players, were no match.

Kragujevac`s defense blitzed heavily throughout the game stopping the team from Ljubljana offensively; they had only one serious chance to score near the game`s end. The offense on the other hand did just enough, and with some special teams help scored enough for a comfortable win.

Aleksandar Ristić finished off the home team`s solid first drive with a touchdown run from the 3 yard line for a 6-0 lead, as the extra point attempt`s execution went bad.

A spark in the Silverhawks play, when Nemanja Trajković passed the ball under pressure, with David Turšič intercepting it didn`t end up being to good for this team. After a stalled drive and a punt, Vitomir Rašić returned for 60 yards and a score to give Kragujevac a 13-0 lead going into the half.

The Wild Boars sealed the deal in the 3rd quarter. Ristić`s second touchdown was overturned because of a holding penalty, but on the next play Trajković and Marko Radivojević took advantage of bad play on defense connecting for a 20 yard touchdown. There were no 4th quarter points, and the Silverhawks last try to score ended with an unsuccessful pas on 4th and long. In the last minute, Kragujevac`s strange decision to score one more time ended with another interception on Trajković`s and Turšič`s stat sheet.

“We tried to keep the mistakes on offense in this match at a minimum. Unfortunately we didn`t succeed completely, but we`re now looking forward to our next game in Belgrade”, said one of the team`s coaches, Aleksandar Ristić.

Marko Korićanac was also glad with the win. “This win`s very important to us, after last week`s shock in Novi Sad. Today, the play on offense was satisfactory . The win`s good for us, before the decisive match in Belgrade”, said Korićanac.

The Silverhawks first match in the season`s second part didn`t go to well. “It was a good game, feisty. We were missing a lot of linemen, on both sides of the ball, which was our biggest problem”, said Rok Milek from Ljubljana. “The referees also lack experience, but it will improve and my congratulations to Kragujevac”, he added.
