Ulicny returns as Bowl referee

The Bowl may not be in Belgrade like last year, but there will be more similarities to last year’s final except that one of the teams are the Vukovi. This year’s referee for the bowl game will be the same like last year’s — it’s the Austrian official Michael Ulicny, who’ll lead the bowl crew consisting of three other Austrian and three Serbian officials.

One other official returns from last year — it’s Zoran Tadić who’ll handle the head linesman position. Others making their debut in the CEFL Bowl: Ralf Berger as the umpire, Siniša Ljubišić as the line judge, Nemanja Trajković as the back judge, Dieter Müllner as the field judge, and Željko Pantić as the side judge. Ljubišić, Trajković and Pantić are the officials from Serbia, while Tadić, despite a name that suggests otherwise, is a representative of the Austrian officials.

It will be the first time that the referee is not from a neutral country. Last year a Serbian and a Hungarian team took part in the final, and two years ago an Italian official refereed the final between two Serbian teams.

It undoubtedly won’t be a problem, as Ulicny is one of the most experienced Austrian officials. Last year’s CEFL Bowl was his 462nd officiated game, and he took part in numerous Austrian Bowls as well as international EFAF games.
