The Vukovi beat the Silverhawks at the start of the season last week and what that game showed is that both teams appear capable of making it to the title game. That of course also depends on the other two teams and they meet on Saturday in Budapest from 1PM, when the Wolves host the Istanbul Cavaliers.
The Budapest Wolves were in years past one of the most consistent teams. That also had its bad side, since they were consistently good but never great. Last year was a typical year, since they made it to the semifinal and since, once there, they lost to the Silverhawks. They are promising to try more this season and it could be a good thing they are playing the Cavaliers.
The team from Istanbul will also be very different from the team that played just one game last year, losing it big. They lost some players, but also brought in plenty of new ones, that should be more than capable of making up for the losses.
Still, they are the new team and until they prove themselves, they are the ones that are the outsiders for the top two spots that lead to the title game, making them also an outsider in this game. The Wolves have done a good job in the preseason friendly games, but these are still just friendlies. The Cavaliers themselves did not have a bad start in the Turkish league, where they are defending last year’s title.
And with all that said, both teams are still unbeaten in the CEFL this year, meaning there is no reason why the Cavaliers should not try to win this game.
