Both Western and Eastern Conferences continue playing this weekend with Cineplexx Blue Devils hosting Projekt Spielberg Graz Giants in Hohenems, Austria, while Indjija Indians greet Novi Sad GAT Dukes.
The Giants have achieved quite a feat in their last national league appearance winning against the heavily favored Swarco Raiders, one of the strongest teams in Europe. The Giants’ will be helped by two American imports playing both ways, O’Neil Blake – defensive back and running back and Clint Floyd – safety and wide receiver. The Blue Devils will have a hard time passing the ball, because their overseas quarterback Blake Bolles is no longer with the team. However, Beat Gächter, who will replace him under center, will have a reliable target in wide receiver Christian Steffani. American Ryan Newell will also sit out this game with an injury but Blue Devils’ running back doubling as a defensive back, Frank Miles will be of great help to the team.
Indians will play their first game this season against GAT Dukes. They’ll have a very busy schedule until the end of the season. GAT Dukes try to stay in the hunt for the playoffs after their loss to SBB Vukovi earlier in the season.
