First members of Central European Football League from Turkey, Istanbul Cavaliers, won the TAFL Bowl game.
Thrilling match against Gazi USC Warriors from Ankara has finished with 18-13 score for Cavaliers, who also played the Bowl game last year and lost the trophy with dramatic 20-22. This time, after getting up, going through the pain and hard work once again, Istanbul Cavaliers became champions of Turkey.
“This is the pay-off for the 5 years of hard work. I think there is a common consensus here that we got what we deserved. This is the success of a team with a lot of dedication dedication. I would like to raise our opponent the Warriors as well. They played with their hearts and did their best on the field”, said club’s president Bahadir Ilgaç while speaking for CEFL web-site.
Cavaliers’ debut in Central European Football League is scheduled for June 12th Wild Card game, when they’ll clash with Cineplexx Blue Devils for the 4th spot in playoffs. And, new Turkish champions are aware that new challenges are ahead of them – very soon.
“Now, after getting the title,, we believe we are ready to compete in the next level. We have a one week off and then gonna start for the preparation of CEFL Wild Card Game against the Blue Devils. We gonna also play the semi final in EFAF Challenge Cup at the end of June. In other words, lots of things done, lots of ways to go”, said Bahadir Ilgaç, and congratulated once again his teammates, coaches and all supporters of Istanbul Cavaliers for the victory in TAFL Bowl game.
