One of the teams returning to the League this season is Cineplexx Blue Devils, one of the most prominent participants of Austrian Division 1. Their two appearances so far have been very noticeable as they only lost in the 2009 finals to SBB Vukovi and in 2012 semifinals to Ljubljana Silverhawks.
The team took a big hit in the offseason after seeing 15 players departing for different reasons. Some of them are going to play for other teams, some taking a career break and a few of them retiring. Trying to keep up, the team will bring back some of their former players who went to other clubs in the previous seasons. A couple of those are brothers Steffani, Mike and Christian, both of whom are wide receiver / defensive back combos, with Mike also playing quarterback.
Playing a dense national schedule Cineplexx Blue Devils open their SportKlub CEFL season with a game in Novi Sad. However, even after having hardly any bye weeks this year, the team is certainly hoping to go a step further this time than in 2009.
